Remember my first sketches of St. Pancras Station? Well I thought that one of them (see image 1) looked kind of like a zombie, I made a small cartoon of him as a zombie waiting for someone from the train and getting bored. It was amusing at the time, although I’m not so sure anymore. Anyhoo, the other images are part of an exercise where we remembered a scene, then redrew it twice with what we definitely remembered. It’s really interesting to see what changed with each drawing as there were things which I was positive about at first, but I became more and more uncertain about. Part of this is that our minds seem to fabricate things around our memories in order to fill in the details which we don’t notice until we start to really analyse them. Really interesting exercise, certainly one worth repeating if you’re doing a project themed around exact details or questioning memory.
