A brainstorm, some doodles and some actual ideas for the WD-40 viral. The last two were by Mark Collington (an Animation Tutor) drawing out the suggestions and ideas given by everyone after some research. So we have themes like the Tour De France which we could show by using imagery of Charly Gaul and a map of the route for the Tour De France as well as a close up of the chain, perhaps even using the chain to animate the route imagery itself! Themes of cleaning the bike as a metaphor for modernisation as well as literally showing what WD-40 can do (although we’re not allowed to explicitly say that it cleans, only imply). There’re also techniques such as shining the lights on the bike frame to highlight certain shapes and spelling out ‘WD-40’ using the bike itself.
